Laser Therapy

About Laser Treatment

Laser treatment uses modern technology to stimulate healing and regeneration in the body. We have had considerable success in using laser therapy to treat headaches, such as migraines, and musculoskeletal conditions, but this treatment has also been effective in the treatment of a broader range of conditions, including:

  • Soft Tissue Injuries (knee pain, carpal tunnel syndrome)
  • Neurogenic Pain (sciatica, herniated disc)
  • Degenerative Conditions (rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis)
  • And many others (inflammation, sinusitis, heel spurs)

About the K-Laser

Marin Spine and Sports has brought new technology to Marin County with the second generation of therapeutic lasers. We use the FDA-approved class IV K-Laser, the strongest therapeutic laser available in the US. This laser uses heat and is thousands of times more powerful than earlier cold lasers. This allows for deeper penetration (4 inches versus a few millimeters) into the musculoskeletal tissue and drastically more effective and rapid results.

How it Works

The K-Laser therapy actually regenerates damaged tissue, thus stimulating healing rather than merely masking pain. This makes it extremely effective in treating injuries and other painful conditions, particularly when used in conjunction with other treatments offered at our office. The laser converts light to biochemical energy, which regulates cell function. This process diminishes aggravating symptoms (pain) and speeds the healing process.

Results on Many Levels

Laser therapy’s effect on tissues and cells has been proven vastly beneficial across a range of biological functions. Beneficial results of laser therapy include:

  • Accelerated tissue repair and cell growth
  • Reduced inflammation
  • Reduced pain
  • Improved vascular activity
  • Improved nerve function

A Note About Safety

K-Laser therapy is not a thermal treatment and can therefore be used safely over metal implants and for patients with circulation and neuropathy problems.
